What Interior Design Costs in Denver: A Transparent Guide for Homeowners

Let’s face it, money talk can feel uncomfortable. But at Studio Rhodes, we believe your home is one of the most personal investments you’ll ever make, and that starts with clarity around what it costs to design it well.

Whether you’re planning a full renovation, furnishing a new build, or refreshing a few rooms, one of the first questions we often get is “How much does interior design actually cost?” And the unwanted answer is, it depends… but that doesn’t mean it needs to be a mystery.

This guide breaks down what you can expect when working with a luxury interior designer in Denver, and how we approach pricing with honesty, structure, and intention.

1. First, Let’s Talk About Value

Working with an interior designer is about more than sourcing beautiful things, it’s about the experience of bringing your home to life in a way that feels cohesive, functional, and reflective of your personality.

At Studio Rhodes, we offer full-service interior design as well as virtual design. In both cases, you’re not just paying for time, you’re investing in our expertise, trade access, project management, and a well-honed process that saves you from costly missteps.

2. Pricing Structures: What to Expect

Interior design fees in Denver typically fall into one (or a combination) of these models:

  • Flat Fee: A set price for a defined scope of work. This is often used for full-service design or specific project phases.

  • Hourly Rate: Billed for actual time spent. This is most common with design consultations, ongoing guidance, or flexible services.

  • Cost-Plus Model: You pay the wholesale price + a set designer markup. This is often used for furnishings, custom items, or materials procurement.

Please Note: Designer markup is best represented as a designers retail structure. Wholesale + Markup = Retail Cost

At Studio Rhodes, we tailor our fee structure to the scope and complexity of your project. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all design, and that includes pricing. During our discovery call and consultation, we walk through what makes sense for your goals and timeline.

3. Common Project Ranges

Although every project is unique, here are some general ranges to help you orient your expectations:

  • To roughly estimate a furnishing budget, multiply the number of spaces included in your scope by $30,000.

    IE: 5 Rooms x $30,000 = $150,000 ideal furnishing budget

  • A full Kitchen or Primary Bath Remodel can cost anywhere from $75,000 - $150,000.

  • Our Virtual Design Packages offer a more flexible approach where the design can be executed in phases.

Please note: These figures reflect a quality-driven approach, not big box furniture or fast design services. Our clients care about longevity, function, and timeless beauty.

4. Budget Clarity, From the Start

At Studio Rhodes, we believe design should feel exciting, not overwhelming. That’s why every client consultation includes a customizable budget tool, so you can explore cost ranges, make educated decisions, and feel confident about where your investment is going.

From the start, we’re transparent about pricing and what’s included in each service tier. We walk you through your options, share what’s realistic for your goals, and outline exactly what to expect. Whether you’re furnishing a single room or renovating an entire home, our goal is to make the process feel clear, collaborative, and, dare we say, enjoyable.

“We’ve found that clarity on costs creates space for creativity. When you know the numbers, you can focus on the fun part, bringing your vision to life.”
